BUMIPUTERA ENTRPRENEURS RETAIL PROJECT FUND (PROSPER)

Objective

The general purpose is to increase and upgrade Bumiputera entrepreneurs’ participation in the retail business whereas PUNB specific objective is to provide assistance through PROSPER scheme which entitles successful applicant to equity and capital financing up to 30 per cent or loan up to 90 per cent of the total project cost based on Islamic financing.

Eligibility Criteria

Some of the prerequisites are:
1. The applicant must possess the basic characteristics of an entrepreneur.
2. His or her minimum age is at least 18 years old.
3. The applicant has to have minimum entrepreneurial skills or business acumen.
4. There is no dubious financial record with the banks.
5. Financing is set at a minimum of 10 per cent of the total cost of the project.

Business

1. The company must be wholly owned by Bumiputeras.
2. The chosen business location must be deemed as strategic.

Eligible Activities

Either franchised or non-franchised retail business.
